From a post-war recovery to a flourishing tech ecosystem, Croatia’s story is one of resilience, determination, and transformation. The Recursive’s latest documentary captures this journey, showcasing how a small nation with only 3.8 million people became a home to global tech giants like Infobip and Rimac Automobili, while nurturing a thriving startup culture.

The film highlights Croatia’s innovative spirit, fueled by bootstrapped startups, collaborative communities, and a growing ecosystem of accelerators, coworking spaces, and tech meetups. This momentum has created an environment where people choose to stay—or even return—to contribute to its growth.

Featuring insights from key figures in Croatia’s tech scene, the documentary includes:

  • Vedran Cindrić, Founder & CEO of Treblle

  • Nikola Pavešić, Director of DevEx & Startups at Infobip

  • Hajdi Ćenan, Co-founder and CEO of airt, President of CRO Startup

  • Peđa Predin, Managing Director at Fifth Quarter Ventures

  • Martina Silov, President of CroAI Association

  • Damir First, Innovation Advisor at AI Škola

  • Tihana Petričević, Co-founder and CEO of Silver Technologies

Directed by Andrey Andonov, with contributions from script supervisor Teodora Atanasova and editing supervisor Ana Marija Kostanić, the documentary is a tribute to the innovation, determination, and collaboration that define Croatia’s tech scene.

Special thanks to Infobip and Wespa Spaces for their support in making this project possible.

This documentary celebrates the incredible progress Croatia has made, but it’s also a call to action. The journey is far from over, and together, we can continue to build, innovate, and inspire.
