Broader AI impact
From policy to practice
From contributing to the European AI Act and co-founding the European AI Forum to mapping the Croatian AI Landscape, our efforts are shaping the future of AI both locally and across Europe.

European AI Act
In June 2020, CroAI submitted a formal opinion on the EU's White Paper on AI, pushing for more space for startups and innovation. We recommended creating an AI sandbox with a Code of Conduct, establishing a competitive startup framework at the EU level, and adopting the State as the first client model. These ideas were adopted into the European AI Act, which passed in March 2024 and was approved by the EU Council in May 2024.

European AI Forum
In June 2020, CroAI co-founded the European AI Forum, organizing the first virtual conference on the last day of Croatia’s Presidency over the Council of the EU. This platform, created with KI Verband from Germany and HUB France IA from France, is now a bi-annual event hosted by the presiding EU country and has grown into a formal organization based in Brussels, involving nine partner countries. It's bridging the gap between over 2,000 AI companies and policymakers.
