Ivan Krnić is the Director of Engineering at CROZ, the 0800-DEVOPS podcast host, and an O’Reilly author contributing to "97 Things Every Cloud Engineer Should Know". Particularly interested in leadership and organizational change, Ivan helps organizations align business and technology, focus their efforts, and essentially work smarter, not harder. His special areas of interest include DevOps culture, the sociotechnical nature of software delivery, and cloud-native architectures.

Q: What inspired the creation of the DevOps Club, and how has the community evolved since?

A: “The industry agrees that we need a more efficient and more humane software delivery process. Many industry experts promote good ideas and proven practices, but these messages need help coming through. The DevOps community amplifies these messages. In 2023, we started the DevOps Club meetup to facilitate conversations where DevOps practitioners share their experiences and provide proof that better ways of working are possible. The community response was nothing short of amazing, with newcomers at every meetup and our regular participants already taking the stage. Speakers have come from various industries, ranging from regulated financial institutions to software vendors and even a Swedish furniture manufacturer. What makes us particularly happy is that the audience includes members from startups, consultancies, and large-scale enterprises. All this shows us that efficient software delivery is a necessity for all organizations, and the DevOps Club meetup is the key enabler for such conversations.”
